Hi, since I finally reached level 110 and can begin with BfA content I wanted to switch from enhancement to restoration shaman. Mainly because I want to play primarily as healer when I get to level 120. But… leveling as resto seems to take forever and the “DPS rotation” (Flameshock, Lava Burst, Chain Lightning) is a bit lackluster.

I wouldn’t recommend leveling in Healer spec unless you’re Disc. It can be agonizingly slow and pulling multiple mobs isn’t really doable. Just level as DPS and start taking Healer gear once you get close to 120.

Just level as shadow so dungeons go even faster as you can add some DPS and shadow heals perfectly fine while leveling. And for a bonus resto has much more survival. He didn't need to do corpse walk and eat frequently. On the opposite side elemental need constant feeding for health. The catch is, if you will play elemental at the end, you will have artifact and it's power.

Solo, things are slower than average but much better at lower levels where holy healers get a decent smite while the nature DOT seems to take a long time to drop mobs, especially at later levels. Nature healers can get off self heals much faster verses a large number attacking or fast repetitive attacks making nature more safe for some situations solo.

Even tanks and healers are going to want a dps spec for questing and dailies. There are no weapon drops at all in legion, HOWEVER, you can have all 3 artifact weapons relevant to your class. That being said, when the expansion launches, pick the DPS weapon first.

Lack of overall damage, lack of AoE, etc. all make solo play miserable in many games. It has left many a healing class feeling, for me, as though it's only worth playing if you can consistently find a group to play healer throughout the leveling process. Druid leveling is as easy or as challenging as you want to make it.

In WoD they let you get bodygaurds at like level 96 or 98?.

When the expansion drops, players will be asked to select one weapon for one spec that they wish to pursue, and that will be the weapon they will use in that spec for the rest of the expansion .
